It is required to interface a device which requires control signals in the form of optical signals. This series optical fiber transceiver is medium translating equipment for quick-speed transmission. This system breaks the short distance restriction which exists in cable transport system and guarantees a long distance transport for the RS232 under the precondition of high-bandwidth transport.
MC012 (RS232 to Optical Converter)
This is employed as a protocol converter (or link) between a legacy embedded device and an 10/100 ethernet network. The legacy device may communicate with the outside world using an RS232 serial port, Controller Area Network (CAN), or perhaps some type of parallel interface.

MC035 (RS232 to RS422/485)
The RS-422/485 standards overcome the transmission distance limitation by using a differential signal for transmitting data and control signals. RS422 (differential) was designed for greater distances and higher Baud rates than RS232. RS485 meets the requirements for a truly multi-point communications network, and the standard specifies up to 32 drivers and 32 receivers on a single (2-wire) bus.
